New Library and Resource Facility
In the second poorest country in the Western hemisphere, education empowerment can change lives and communities. CREA’s new home, opened officially on August 22, 2017, is a dream come true for so many. The CREA Center boasts a formal lending library; a computer lab for education-related uses; a ample covered-outdoor space for meetings, reading, tutoring, and classes; a large multi-use room for workshops and meetings; two large storage areas for supplies and tools; and two wheelchair accessible bathrooms.

CREA’s new home is the primary site for our three core initiatives: Library Services, Education Outreach, and Youth Development. Through the three core initiatives, CREA engages with children, youth and their families in order to provide educational resources to empower and inspire.

The CREA CENTER provides:

Literacy. We loan books, encourage children to read and provide educational opportunities to the community.

Academic Support. Our teacher-led Tutoring and Mobile Program engage school children in core subjects.

Youth Development. The Formación Fénix leadership program focuses on entrepreneurial skills development, community involvement and college preparation. Our scholarship component enables kids in high school to continue with a post-secondary education.

Community Engagement. Our monthly events invite families to participate in the growth of their community.
